What is Benchmarking?

Benchmarking is a method of evaluating the quality and performance of your company's goods, services, and procedures in the workplace. These measurements aren't very useful until they're compared to a reference point. This is a standard, called Benchmark.

What it does- Your company's objective should be to expand, improve operations, enhance quality, lower expenses, and make more money. Benchmarking is one of several methods you may utilize as part of your organization's continuous improvement approach.

Example- Assume your product takes 30 minutes to make. Is the 30-minute time limit a good or terrible idea? You can only find out by comparing it to other data, such as the time it takes another company to make a similar product. You can use another organization's time as a benchmark for comparing your processes and procedures if they can create the same sort of product in less than 30 minutes.
