SIPOC (Supplier, Input, Process, Output, Customer)

SIPOC is an acronym for Suppliers, Inputs, Process, Outputs, and Customer. A process map is created by combining information from these five categories to provide a high-level perspective of a Six Sigma project. Finally, it's a component of a strategy that leads to more efficient and waste-free commercial operations.

What SIPOC does?

SIPOC diagrams are helpful for centering a debate, establishing a shared language among team members, and comprehending a continuous improvement process. SIPOC is frequently used in Six Sigma during the "define" step of the DMAIC process (define, measure, analyze, improve, control). To link the value of a client to a business process, some businesses utilize SIPOC diagrams in a reverse way or COPIS.

Where SIPOC is mostly useful?

Making a SIPOC diagram is useful for a multitude of purposes, the most common of which is continuous improvement. A completed SIPOC diagram may be used to identify problem areas, conduct process analysis, and explain company processes to an audience since it gives a high-level map of a process. A SIPOC diagram can also be useful when some aspects of a process are unclear. It requires team members to locate and organize data such as supplier connections, project specs, and target clients.
